Mocking Birds

This bird sat on the porch with Lewis and me while I packed up the closet. He didn't look very healthy. Also a group of mockingbirds have labeled Lewis an enemy of some sort. To the best of my knowledge he hasn't done anything to threaten them, nonetheless, they swoop down and peck at him.

Apparently, these mockingbirds are mocking my grandson because they feel threatened by him! They are very territorial... when we lived in TX, one of our cats couldn't get out of a culvert in the front yard because the mockingbirds attacked him every time he poked his head out.

Perhaps these birds know that hlf of Silas' genetic code comes from Joel, and they are afraid of the cliche, "Like father, like son". Not that Joel attacked birds, but he was an energetic kid (are ya surprised??)

HaHa - at first I wondered, "Why did Alice put a space in mocking bird?" Now I get it, it was a bird, mocking. Very clever.

Hello.... you must think I'm nuts! When I read the post, my brain didn't see "Lewis", it saw "Silas". Now, whay would mockingbirds harrass Silas? I have no clue. But, it was worthy of a comment.

Why would mockingbirds harrass Lewis? That makes more sense.

Amazing... I apparently have lost all ability to read.
