Cheap Toys and Tyler

The 2 aren't related. But I promised I would tell you about the great toys I got and then, we'll have a survey. After a couple trips to Andrea's, we learned that Silas likes to play in what we commonly call a "megasaucer". This was one of those things that I was sure that we would never get because they take up so much space. It's amazing how quickly we've changed our minds on so many things since becoming parents; our apartment gets smaller and smaller all the time. Anyway, I priced these saucery things at many places and for those of you in the market, they're about 80 bucks. BUT we found ours at a used kids stuff store for about half that price. That's mega.

The other photo is a great shot of the bald spot- our pediatrician-to-be, Kathleen Fung, is really proud of that because it shows her that Silas is sleeping on his back. Silas and I were contemplating the downpoor of rain that commenced when it was time for us to leave for our "second look" at UT Tyler. Hence begins the survey: should Joel go to
1. UT Tyler (Family Medicine)
2. UAMS in Little Rock (Internal Medicine/ Pediatrics)
3. Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN (Internal Medicine/Pediatrics)

Please indicate your first choice and why. Results of the survey do not guarantee that they will be ranked accordingly or acceptance into the program.

If we are going to be in LR next year, then I would like for you guys to be here as well. That would be swell.

Eleanor loves the saucer things too. We decided that since she loves them so much, then she can consider it a special treat when she gets to play with them (in the nursery, at our small group, etc.). She's learning moderation...or something like that.

well, lumpkins, you have about 2 weeks to determine if y'all are going to be in LR because that's when I'm turning in my rank list... otherwise we won't know how to count your vote.

I think you should go to Little Rock. Then you could come to OBU and eat Chica Fila with me as often as you wanted.

Laura says Tyler and Little Rock. I dont think she means at the same time. Not sure though.

Now that I am at home, I can go update mine. Come Visit it. I hope SIlas feels like a baby should feel soon. Ok, have a great day.

Tyler is a nice town. Heath goes there several times a month to visit people in the hospital there. I think my vote is for tyler or NC because I would like to visit you there. BUT I can see why LR would be tempting as we already know people there.
Good luck.

The most obvious choice in my opinion is PLANO, TX...more specifically 512 Tribal Rd. The beauty of this is you get to be where you want to be the most, and since we are in the Internet Age (as exemplified by the mere existance of this blog), Joel can perform his residency remotely ... anywhere that has a broadband connection ... that includes the exotic Far East. Isn't this a wonderful modern age we live in. By the way, this counts for 3 votes (jesse, amy, and jg) which I believes gives us the lead.

Well, technically, PLano does have the lead. Jesse, I'm afraid that Joel forgot to apply to residencies that allow satellite work. Even though we currently have a broadband connection, Joel has ruined his chances. So it looks like LR is in the lead...
