This is Silas' first (and hopefully last) meal at the Gurdon Truck and Auto Plaza, where we waited for the tire shop crew to finish eating their lunch. We had a flat tire on the highway so to commemorate it (and because it was lunchtime) we ate green beans, chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and cottage cheese. The waitress even threw in a piece of cake and a roll.

On Joel's day off, we invited Silas to be a third wheel on our date. We ate at Leo's Greek Castle. Silas' first greek food included hummus, little bites of a pita and some meat from a gyro. He was thrilled with all of it, but not thrilled about the man who kept talking to him at the table across from us.

This is a picture of a post-call day sno cone party. Joel and I got my favorite flavor: sour cherry and coconut. Silas' first flavor of sno cone (pictured here) was snow flavored.

Alice, can you taste a differance between coconut and pina Cloda. Personally i think they are very smiliar.
I definitely can. Pina colada tastes like it has pineapple in it. Coconut daquiri and coconut taste very similar though and coconut and blue coconut taste exactly alike.
Alice, you and Silas both look great in those pictures. I'm craving a half strawberry half vanilla cream snow cone right now.
You and your Starberry uhh?
My normal policy is to only comment when I have some thing of substance to say. If the only thing I can think of to say is something like "great pics! keep 'em coming!!" then I shouldn't comment. Boring comments are like non-comments. I did actually really enjoy this post and pictures but I haven't thought of an unboring way to say so. Emily and sara both found good ways to comment on your post. Nothing boring about snowcones. I haven't had the oppertunity to buy nearly as many snow cones this summer as I think God would have had me buy if we lived in a town with a snow cone stand. So I can not comment in an interesting way about the snow cones. I also don't have anything to say about the truck stop meal except that I think the pictures of silas and your arm are great. But again- what an uninteresting comment. Its obvious that the pictures are good. Pointing it out is -again- uninteresting. So I'm working on a really good comment for this post. I'll comment when I'm ready.
My arm would have put on makeup if it knew we were going to be in a such a predicament at the truckstop, thus warranting the photo.
Alice, great to see your blog. Can't wait to see you in person next week at pokey o's. I have never been there so it will be a new experience. You need to check out and comment on my blog as well.
