"As Different as Silas and Micah"

Many of you have been asking me, "Alice, did that phrase originate with your boys? I've been hearing it all the time."
Well, it sure did. Here's the differences between Silas and Micah.

Silas liked to swing.
Micah doesn't. (who doesn't like to swing?)

Silas likes MAM pacifiers.
Micah likes Nuk pacifiers.

Silas still liked to be swaddled at 3.5 months. We had to "wean" him off the swaddling blanket.
Micah wants his hands free and gets really mad if we swaddle him.

Silas insisted on crying it out before he would sleep through the night.
Micah seems as though he's going to do it on his own.

Silas rarely slept in the carseat.
Micah really likes to sleep in the carseat.

Here's a picture of Silas at 3.5 months. As you can see, from the following picture, Micah is beginning to look like Silas.

Here is a picture of Silas at 19.5 months. I tried to upload my picture of Micah of the Future at 19.5 months, but iPhoto had some sort of problem exporting it.

Silas is so gorgeous, and so is Micah! You have such sweet boys Alice. I love seeing you list all the differences - it is truly amazing...

Nana always said that Ye-ju and Jin were differant has night and day. "Jin is so out going and friendly, but that other one just stays up in her room." something along those lines.

Micha really does look a lot like Silas exspecially in the second picuture!

Please keep trying. I would so very much like to see Micah at 19.5 months old. Also, I wonder what he looks like at 28 yrs old (cue picture of Joel in a diaper) hehe

I have always thought that your boys looked alike.

I looked at some of your links since you added them. I can't believe your dog has a myspace page.

Well, "as duifferent as Silas and Micah" is a modern translation of an older language credo:

"As different as Matt and Joel". I thought I'd give an example, but then I realized Joel I better get permission first. ha!

I'm sure you can make similar comparisons to pairs of the Poteet girls, but, they didn't live in our house :-)

It amazes me at the creativity of our creator that, from the same genetic material, kids can be so significantly different.
